Priorities
I know that Blaine, Jerome, and Lincoln counties have a great many shared goals. On behalf of all members of these communities, I want to protect:
Education First
As your Senator, I believe education is the foundation of a thriving community and a prosperous future. Idaho’s public education system has been underfunded for far too long, leaving our teachers underpaid and our schools struggling to meet the needs of our students. I’m committed to changing that. I will continue to fight for increased funding for public schools, ensuring our teachers earn a living wage, and empowering schools to make decisions that best serve their students and communities. I oppose diverting public funds to private or religious schools because it undermines the public education system that serves the majority of Idaho’s children.
My Record:
I voted for (Bill 883) giving charter and public schools more flexibility in how public funds are used, reducing unnecessary reporting requirements so schools can focus on education.
I voted against (Bill 623) a mandatory moment of silence at the start of each school day because I believe classroom time should be dedicated to learning, while respecting the diverse beliefs of Idaho’s students and families.
Affordability for Every Idahoan
I believe hardworking Idahoans deserve to get ahead, not just get by. The cost of everything—groceries, rent, healthcare, property taxes—keeps climbing while paychecks struggle to keep pace, and that squeeze is hitting our families hard. I've fought to ease that burden by stopping the tax on food, making it easier to build starter homes, restoring the homeowner's exemption, and protecting the care and job training our communities depend on. Affordability isn't a talking point for me—it's about keeping Idaho a place where every family can thrive.
My Record:
I voted for (Bill 1352) small-lot starter home subdivisions because young families and first-time buyers deserve a real chance at homeownership right here at home.
I voted for (Bill 1433) enhancing the health and welfare budget because protecting rural hospitals and keeping care within reach shouldn't be a luxury.
I voted against (Bill 913) mandatory work requirements for Medicaid because no vulnerable Idahoan should lose access to healthcare they can afford.
Protecting Public Lands
Idaho’s public lands are a treasure that belong to all of us. They provide opportunities for hunting, fishing, recreation, and tourism, and they’re a critical resource for agriculture and our local economies. I’ve consistently fought to keep these lands accessible and free for all Idahoans, opposing efforts to sell them to private entities or corporations. Privatization would have devastating consequences for agriculture, recreation, and tourism, and I’m committed to preserving these lands for future generations to enjoy.
My Record:
I supported (SCR 116-119) infrastructure projects in water districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 to ensure sustainable management of public lands and water resources.
I voted yes (Bill 1304) to maintain access to irrigation right-of-ways, ensuring proper maintenance of canals and waterways that are vital for agriculture and water management.
I advocated (HJM009) for the federal government to properly apply the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, ensuring Idaho’s public lands are managed responsibly and remain accessible to the public.
Affordable Healthcare
I believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Every Idahoan deserves access to affordable, quality healthcare, and I’ve worked hard to address the challenges families face in getting the care they need. I’ve supported measures to enhance healthcare services, particularly for children and vulnerable populations, and I’ve opposed policies that create unnecessary barriers to care.
My Record:
I voted yes (Bill 1433) on enhancing the health and welfare budget, ensuring critical resources are available to support Idahoans’ healthcare needs.
I supported (Bill 776) safety checks for children under one year of age because protecting the health and well-being of our youngest residents is a top priority.
I opposed (Bill 913) mandatory work requirements for Medicaid eligibility because I know these requirements could prevent vulnerable populations from accessing essential healthcare services.
Defending Freedoms
I’ve always been a steadfast advocate for the rights and freedoms of all Idahoans. I believe in protecting individual liberties, including the right to choose how to live, love, and raise a family. I’ve consistently opposed legislation that seeks to limit personal freedoms or discriminate against certain groups. Idaho should be a place where everyone can thrive, free from unnecessary government interference.
My Record:
I opposed (Bill 561) prohibitions on displaying certain flags because I stand for freedom of expression and the right of individuals to celebrate their identities and beliefs.
I voted against (Bill 752) the bathroom bill because I believe in defending the dignity and rights of all Idahoans, regardless of gender identity.
This is my vision for Idaho—a state where education is prioritized, public lands are preserved, healthcare is accessible, the economy works for everyone, and freedoms are protected. Together, we can build a brighter future for Blaine, Jerome, and Lincoln counties and for all Idahoans.
